Decent beer base with some sort of orange extract added. At the packy, I thought I read it was the hops that make it “juicy” and so I bought it. At home, it became clear it’s the orange flavoring that’s the “juicy”. Not a fan.

Probably my fault. When I say Juicy IPA, I immediately thought this was a hazy NEIPA.... And it is not.
Instead it tastes like it has orange soda in it. Very little foam. A little cloudy, but not hazy. Very thin feel.
Maybe my fault, but not a huge fan.

Poured from 16oz can into my Bell’s tulip. Canned 11/25/24.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haze and a finger of ivory foam. Looks nice.

Smell: sweet with a kind of “tart candy” element that I find interesting; the character of the aroma is mostly citrus peel and maybe some pineapple. I’m not entirely convinced the added orange flavor really helped this beer much, though.

Taste: again, on the sweet side, with plenty of citrus zest type of flavor going on. It’s not too bad, but the orange is covering up whatever interesting stuff the hops could be providing, I think.

Mouthfeel: medium body wtih a good carbonation and a good creaminess for the style.

Overall: I don’t think I would call this a “New England IPA”, really — the brewers do call it a “juicy IPA”, but I think they were going for something else here, with their addition of orange flavoring. It’s okay overall, but I think I’m just not a huge fan of orange extract in a beer like this.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The brew pours a hazed orange-yellow color with a medium sized head of white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of an orange juice and tangerine smell mixed with a rather strong aroma of grapefruit and some breadiness. Along with these smells comes a touch of yeast and a little bit of mango and papaya.
Taste – The taste starts out with a huge orange juice flavor mixed with a bit of the bread that was in the nose. The orange juice really dominates this one, with only lighter levels of mango and papaya detectable. There is a moderate showing of grapefruit and a little bit of herb, both of which get a bit weaker as the taste advances forward. All the while the breadiness gets bigger, and with a surge of more citrus at the end, one is left with a orange juiced up moderately citrusy hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is moderately thick and chewy with a moderate level of carbonation. For the OJ flavors of the brew the feel is pretty nice and makes for a thicker but easy sipper.
Overall -A very orange and citrus heavy brew. Rather tasty overall and a good easy drinker.
