can something be juicy and crispy at the same time? i feel like this is a pretty generous use of that term crispy, its not a lager i dont think, doesnt quite have that cold fermented snap and cleanness to it, and the hops cast sort of sweet notes to me with how fruity they hit, neat beer, very drinkable for it being so bold, been awhile since i had anything from lord hobo so it was good to get into a few of them recently! is this supposed to be a cold ipa? anyway, its brassy toned, off from perfectly clear, high white headed from the can, and sports an aroma of sliced navel orange, tangerine, and pine sap, fresh christmas tree, woodsy and fruity alike, with some honey and mango nuance there as well and just enough pale barley malt, seemingly neutral on the ferment, not quite peak freshness but thats no fault of the beer. the flavor is similar, stone fruit with the orange to me now, apricot maybe, strong and long flavor climax right in the center, spruce and weed without overt dankness or oily intensity, bitterness starts a little earlier than in most, slowly ramping up. mango again, mandarin orange, heady sativa, wildflower honey, and just a soft graininess. there is some quickness at the end, more from bitterness than from it being all that dry to me, high carbonation helps with the pace there too, but it lacks the lagered briskness of a proper cold ipa and doesnt quite classify as crisp for me, although i like the hop profile a lot, and if this were fresher it would stand out as even more unique. i like the fruit layers in the hops, the easy medium body, and expect this will appeal to just about all ipa drinkers. robust and good, if a little short of amazing.

This was not a great choice. It was very uneven and the taste and smell was less then To be desired. I do not recommend it. It was like drinking a spoiled bug light or molson. The flavor was not enjoyable. Crisp would not be the choice of words i would use.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass
Appearance -The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a small head of puffy white foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, fading over time and leaving a modest sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a cracker malt mixed with notes of a light grapefruit rind and a bit of orange. Along with these smells comes some lighter notes of pine and a bit of hay. Overall, light, but balanced and clean.
Taste – The taste begins with a crisp cracker malt flavor paired with a very spent grain bread like flavor. There is also some of the pine and grapefruit that were in the nose, along side a touch of caramel, harvest fruit, and tangerine. As the taste advances the tangerine and harvest fruit fade all while the caramel increase a touch. AT the same time the hop gets stronger, and with a bit of herbal hop joining the pine and grapefruit, one is left with a nice crisp and diversely hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is on the thinner and crisper side with a carbonation level that is moderate. For the flavors and the style, the thinner lighter feel is great and makes for a nice crisp sipper.
Overall – A rather easy drinking and flavorful brew. Would certainly do this one again.
