Drank out of a large snifter at the brewery.
Poured a clear dark brown with a good head.
Smells strongly of coffee.
Somewhat watery mouth feel.
Also strong taste of coffee, but overall, not an impression of much substance.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a medium brown color with a massive head of tan colored foam. The head has incredible retention, very slowly fading over time and leaving tons of thick and foamy lace streaks on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is rather strong of a big coffee smell mixed with notes of roasted malt and a big showing of brown sugar and caramel. Along with these smells comes notes of vanilla and some nut as well as hint of cocoa and a bit of cola.
Taste – The taste begins with a nice roasty flavor mixed with some coffee and nut. The coffee is lighter then would be anticipated form the nose, but does still show a good standing. There are some sweet notes as well with the vanilla and the caramel that were in the nose on the tongue as well. As the taste advances the caramel transitions to a more brown sugar like flavor with some of the coffee decreases at the onset of some more roast. At the end there is a touch of wood and crème that join in, leaving one with a moderately sweet but very approachable brown ale taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the thicker and slicker side with a medium carbonation level, making for a rather easy sipper and complimenting the flavors rather well.
Overall – A pretty nice coffee brown ale. Would be a nice sipper in the fall.
