Get that lederhosen ready, Festbier season is here! Modeled after the modern German beers you’ll find in the tents at Oktoberfest in Munich, OktHoboFest is crisp and clean with all the malty richness, low bitterness, and herbal hoppiness required to bolster you through those cool fall days. Like the falling leaves that signal the season, OktHoboFest is a deep gold, almost copper, color, with lightly sweet malt aromas paired with a touch of floral, herbal hop notes. At 5.5% abv, our version of Fall’s favorite lager invites you to keep that stein hoisted all season long. Prost!

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed orange amber color with a small head of white foam. The head fades quickly, leaving a touch of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a bready and malty smell mixed with notes of caramel and some earth. Along with these aromas comes a touch of toffee and a hint of apple and pear.
Taste – The taste starts with a toasted bready and grainy taste with a moderate showing of biscuit malt. There is a little bit of caramel sweetness, but much less then would have been anticipated from the nose. At the same time there is a light earthy and light woody taste, both of which remain consistent throughout. Toward the end the sweet fades a bit while the roastiness gets stronger, leaving one with a toasty and smooth festbier flavor to linger.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and chewiness with a moderate to slightly lower and finer carbonation level.
Overall – A drier, maltier, and easy natured O’fest. Not the best but still quite enjoyable.
