Roasty notes, just like a stout, but this beer is golden and clear?! This Blonde Stout is made in collaboration with Modern Pastry, and has some creamy sweetness to evoke Boston Cream notes.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear deep golden color with a small one finger head of dense white foam. The head has a great level of retention, fading slowly and leaving tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big of a sweet doughy smell mixed with tons of vanilla and crème. Along with these aromas comes notes of cocoa and coffee as well as some toasted bready smells and aromas of milk.
Taste – The taste begins with a light grainy flavor mixed with a strong showing of biscuit and doughy malt mixed with some caramel and crème flavors. Along with these are notes of a bitter coffee and a light level of roast and cocoa. Other flavors of a light vanilla and some apple and pear are in there as well, remaining very light throughout. As the taste advances on the tongue, there is a bit of an increase in the maltiness while some of the sweet fades a tad. A touch of earth joins in throughout, taking the taste to its end and leaving one with a creamy and doughy taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – the body of the brew is a bit thicker and more chewy with a moderate carbonation level.
Overall – An interesting brew. Does have Boston crème doughnut characteristics, but maintains a good easy drinking nature.
