This vanilla porter, one of my all-time favorite styles, was a deep, dark brown color. The one-finger of mocha-foam-like head retained pretty well as a collar and left spotty lacing. The aroma was of light chocolate, toasted malt and hints of vanilla. The flavors were full of vanilla beans and extract (had to be Madagascar vanilla), along with cocoa powder, bittersweet chocolate, hints of coffee and wood. The finish was slightly bitter and it coated my tongue. The mouthfeel was silky smooth, the body full and the carbonation soft. A nice blend of vanilla and chocolate and a well-named beer to boot!
