330CL bottle dragged from Rome all the way to Lake Como, where we knew there would be no good beer. We’ll see how many end up in the luggage headed home this time.
Pour is frothy clouded orange, while the nose heralds me with watery tropical fruits & purple summer flowers. Simultaneously nice & wishy-washy.
Granapa is that pale ale that was picked on too much as a kid. Must & hay in the forefront bring a timid game, but mid-palate there’s a barrage of floral hops that saves the beer from being the movie version of Dune. Light herbal tea & gooseberries round out the experience. A bit heavy for a pale, & that limits how much I’d want to put in my taut body at any one sitting.
Musty hay baled in a field of flowers – an odd contrast, but one that turns out to be pretty good.
