From a growler via Jungle Jim's in Eastgate. This spiced stout pours a
deep muddled brownish black with a nice head of light tan foam that
settles to a thick ring, thin layer, and features some excellent lacing.
Nose of cinnamon and nutmeg mingling with brown sugars and slight
rum notes with a touch of raisins and earthy dark roasted malts. Flavors
follow the nose with light exception; subtle dry cocoa dances on nutmeg and
moderate cinnamon with brown sugars, light breaded malts, a touch of lactose
with the light souring effect, and light earthy malt notes. Decent body; medium
mouth feel, light carbonation, and a subtle vanilla hint on the finish with a touch
of warmth and a cinnamon finish that lingers.
Overall, better than some spiced stouts/ales I have tried. Good for the style.
Cheers
