A double tart brown ale with coffee from local roasters up in Mt. Healthy, Deeper Roots. This is a beer of contrasts with an upfront coffee aroma and tart finish balanced by malt flavors of caramel, toffee and a light fruity sweetness that blend with cold pressed Ethiopian coffee, giving flavors reminiscent of a caramel latte.

Pours a hazy auburn brown color. Lots of red when held towards light, lots of brown when not. Not much head retention. Smells tart like a sour with some mild caramel undertones.
It has a tart, sour, lemony flavor that gives way to a coffee dominated finish. It's an interesting combination of flavors in my opinion. Nicely carbonated. Fancy, for sure.

Poured directly from tap at Urban Artifact in a 12 oz tulip glass.
This beer is a dark, dark amber, almost reaching a dark stout color. You can just see through that deep brown color though.
When poured, it leaves a nice head that disappears fairly quickly.
The smell is absolutely lovely. It smells like a fresh cup of black coffee just brewed in the morning, but if the coffee was mixed with some sort of tart citrus. Super fresh and pleasing to my nose.
Pretty sour citrusy flavor that leaves your mouth with a nice coffee aftertaste. Once you take another sip, the sourness takes over, followed by coffee yet again.
This beer is phenomenal, I was drinking it while listening to the jazz show at Urban Artifact on Wednesday nights.
Not a heavy beer by any standards. Easy drinking, especially for it's high ABV (9.5). I recommend this beer to anyone that enjoys tart and bitter flavors of citrus, coffee, and toffee.

32 ounce growler
Served in a sour glass
This beer pours a very deep amber color with copper highlights. It is topped with less than an inch of tan head that leaves no lacing.
It smells like a fresh cup of coffee.
The taste begins with a tart flavor that transitions to coffee. It doesn't sound good, but it is delicious.
Medium mouthfeel
This was my favorite of the beer s I tried at Urban Artifact, so I bought a growler of it. Coffee and sour tastes great together.
