Another day, another Midwest Fruit Tart. This time Urban Artifact is doing their take on a POG juice. I’ve never seen any POG beers at 9.1% and it doesn’t exactly feel necessary, but I trust Urban Artifact to get it right. Let’s dive right in
Pours a hazy deep gold with 2 fingers of soapy white head that quickly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
This particular combination of fruit can sometimes be overly sweet, but they nailed the balance on this one. I’m picking up on aromas of tart guava, pineapple juice, mango skin, lemon juice, crackery malt, orange juice, and light grass
It’s a bit sweeter in taste but I still really dig it. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon zest, earthy guava, underripe mango, bready malt, and a touch of peach. The swallow brings notes of earthy guava, orange juice, pineapple juice, lemon zest, crackery malt, mango skin, grass, and light peach
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry and drinks well below it’s abv
This one is pretty damn good, and if you weren’t paying attention you wouldn’t know how strong it is

The smell is slightly fruity, slightly sour and of sour fruit. The taste is extremely sour with a hint of sweetness, of pineapple, peach, and lemon. Medium body with water carbonation. I got this in Asheville North Carolina and I’m checking it in Summerville, South Carolina August 20, 2023.

Wow. I had not had a new Urban Artifact brew to blow me away in a while. I am blown away.
This is pours bright yellow with cool fizz. The aroma is exotic fruit, fermented on yeast. Wow. The taste is a major tang of fruit that no way should come out of Cinci. It fills your mouth with tropical goodness.
Highly recommended. I will seek out more.

Very heavy on the guava and orange taste but not in a bad way. At 9.1% ABV this packs a punch with a very juicy taste

Pours guava colored, hazy with a one finger head. Aroma is tartish, orange and pineapple in profile. Taste, though, is mostly guava with some orange but little pineapple. It is tart, not sour, light and fruity. With my eyes closed, I would guess Urban Artifact.

Pours a slightly hazy straw color with a finger of fizzy white head that quickly settles to a ring of fine bubbles.
Very nice aroma of tropical fruit. Lotion of pineapple and orange.
This beer is tart but not sour. Smooth and balanced tropical fruit flavor. I drank most of this beer thinking it was 5.1% before realizing it was 9.1%!! I really couldn’t believe it. Be careful with this one.
Overall I really enjoyed this and will buy again for sure.

12 ounce can, canned on 05/05/21. Served in an Urban Artifact chalice, the beer pours a slightly hazy dark gold color with about an inch or so off-white head that stuck around a while. Decent amount of lacing. I like the aroma, the brew smells like pineapple, orange, guava and just an overall tropical fruit aroma. I think the taste is pretty much like the aroma, but with the addition of a hint of bready malt. I think the tropical fruit flavors dominate here. Good amount of tartness, too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Enjoyable to drink, and doesn't seem like it's 9.1% ABV. I thought this brew was good, definitely worth trying if you're into tropical fruity beers!
