Brut fruit tart ale brewed with malbec wine grapes and soured with lactobacilius culture harvested from the brewery (located at St. Patrick's Church in Cincinnati). Poured from a can into a Fibonacci tulip. The pour is clear, dark, and ruby red with two fingers of pink foam that dies off quickly (due to the acidity). It could almost be mistaken for a glass of red wine. The nose is unusual. While I get some grapey notes and some lemon, I also get some cola-like notes as well.
Medium body with a delicate feel and a complex flavor. Up front the flavors are bright, fruity, and tart with hints of grapes, sour cherries, raisins, and red wine. As the fruity notes die down, the tartness comes through a little bit more. I could swear I almost taste a bit of ginger on the back end. Finishes very dry with some lingering flavors of sour cherries and champagne.
Overall an impressive beer. This is the first time I've had a beer like this from Urban Artifact. Although I typically go berserk when I come across one of their citrusy fruited sours, I am happy to try just about anything they produce because I enjoy their beers so much. I look forward to trying more beers like this from them in the future.

Clear dark red with a short, pock-marked off-white pinkish head.
Mature, tanniny and almost savory grape even gives off a hint of heirloom tomato in the red wine characteristic this deftly develops.
A crisp to firm carbonation runs through the medium body and finishes semi-dry. It's lightly tart with a little bit of booze, and semi-bitter.
