This beer blends the terroirs of the Ohio River Valley and the Suisun Valley; it’s soured with a lactobacillus culture harvested from our home, the historic St. Patrick’s Church in Cincinnati, OH, and fermented with Sauvignon Blanc wine grapes harvested from the California Coast Range in the loamy soils of the Suisun Valley alluvial fan.

8 fl oz can
Served in a sour glass
This beer pours golden and hazy. Suspended yeast particles are visible. There is no head of which to speak.
It has a tart vinous aroma. I get hints of Flanders almost vinegar sour smell.
It starts out with grape flavor. The tartness comes in the middle. There is kind of a white wine flavor and dryness. It tastes better than it smells.
Medium bodied with a dry mouthfeel
Another quality sour from Urban Artifact. I am not a huge fan of Flanders ales, so the smell threw me off. The taste was great. Urban Artifact is one of my go to breweries for sours.

Lightly foggy burnt gold with a short lumpy off-white head that dies to a thin chain.
Tart but also with a bit of white wine heat, notes of green grape and a hint of toasted sesame seed cracker develop before the just dry finish. The aroma especially really blooms with that Sauvignon Blanc wine character, and it pretty much tastes like it too, but for its crisp, but mild, carbonation.

Urban Artifact's flirtation with the world of wine makes a pitstop at the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Fruity, tangy and a little spicy, the "Grapes" series stays as strong as ever.
Pouring a burnt golden color and decorated with a fine necklace trickle of foam. The distinct floral character of the grape shines with cider, white wine, grape juice and lavender. Sweeter to taste, a caramelized taste of honeysuckle, agave, light brown sugar and cashew greet the palate with more sweetness than the average Sauvignon Blanc wine.
As the flavors roll along the middle palate, its sweetness saturates the tastebuds with light and nutty toasted sweetness that eventually labors the palate before ending with a spicy, vinous and mildly tannic balance to close the session fruity and candied. Hints of confectioner's "Pez" candy can be found with the floral flavors ebbing and flowing throughout the session.
Medium full for a fruity beer, the grapes add a heft with its sweetness but then balances itself with its own acidity. Finishing slightly cloying, the beer desperately wants to be a sour ale, but as a fruit beer it seems to leave the acidic side of taste waning.
