Pours a dark red color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma is peanuts. Tastes like peanut butter and jelly mixed together. Very sweet. Crisp and dry.

Dark brick red, nearing magenta, with an off-white short head that fizzles out instantly like soda.

Good god this has that Wonder Bread flavor, crust and all, that's just boggling my mind. You get it immediately in the effervescently light, tart body, with a classic flavor of Jif coming on next.

How exactly those two flavors come first despite this largely being a raspberry tart ale is beyond me, but the raspberry does hit next, and it's JUST like some seedy Smuckers, bringing this all together in a pure liquid PB&J sandwich before coming to a crisp semi-dry finish.

1 pint can
Served in a becker glass

This beer pours plum colored an is topped with a fleeting pink head that leaves no lacing.

The is a subtle peanut aroma. Then I get a big ole whiff of raspberry jelly.

It definitely has a raspberry jelly flavor. The peanut is even less present in the taste. That jelly flavor is so good though.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

I do not think that I have been disappointed by an Urban Artifact beer yet. The peanut is pretty darn subtle. The raspberry is fantastic. My only complaint is that I do not think that it is sour enough. Other than that I love it.

16 oz can, canned on 10/1/20, into Boulevard Smokestack snifter.

Pours a wonderful jammy purple-red with a 2 finger head of bubblegum pink that is fleeting and disappears completely within a minute.

Aroma is of bread crusts, raspberry jam/preserves, and the smell a lunch box gives that recently had a peanut butter sandwich in it. No vinegar in the nose.

Flavor brings tart jelly/preserves, a bit of acedobacter, some bread crust, a hint of celery, and a little peanut butter. It's a bit dull and could be louder in flavor, but it drinks really easily.

Feel is light and crispy, with just a hint of sticky cling at the end. No heat.

Overall, it's just a tad boring but it's not a bad sour. Its drinkability is its best aspect. I've been at it four minutes and it's nearly gone already.

Price paid : $17 / 4 pack
Would buy again : hmmm

Edit : WOAH this is 8.5%? It drinks like a 3% Berliner Weiss. This is probably the sneakiest beer I've ever had.

If art imitates life, then its beer that imitates food. And that's how the experimental brewers at Urban Artifact sees it as they look for insipation for their Epicurean sour ale series. Next stop: Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich.

Bright with a tangy and robust berry scent, the aroma of raspberry jam swirls on the olfactories and above a ruby rouge body and a loose blanketed froth. With hints of peanuts, pastry and vinous acidity looming, so does the greenness of earthy, peppery vegetation. With the first sip, its the jelly maltiness that registers first with the palate.

The distinct flavors of peanut, raspberry and cereal swirl on the middle palate and alternate for attention much like the sandwich without ever melding into a conglomerate mess. With a peppery twinge of red wine and arugula adding curiosity and intrigue, the grounding of the beer happens with the sourness that frames a late taste of cider, grape, lime, lemon and gooseberry.

Medium bodied for sour ale, the pastry sweetness hangs on to balance the acidity and to add plumpness to the food likeness while finishing with a sweet and sour interplay. A medium length aftertaste of raspberry is laced once again with peppery red wine and yep, there's asparagus again.
