Gose is not my thing at all so when I was gifted this beer, I was more than skeptical; then I saw the date and it is already 8 months old; however this beer was very good and I really wish I could now try it fresh

12 fl oz can
Served in a tulip glass

This beer pours a brilliant amber hue and is topped with a fleeting beige head that leaves no trace of its retreat. Can says hazy. It pours crystal clear. I did not shake it first.

It has a briny pineapple nose.

Pineapple flavor. I get coriander in the finish and aftertaste and it is salty.

Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel

Tasty and refreshing. Excellent like all Urban Artifact beers.

Taking pineapple to the drier, more sour and less sweet side, Urban Artifact shows a new way to experience the fruit. With the standard sour ale base that's familiar to the brewery, this tropical fruit sees a new life.

Pale gold and standard with haze, Pinery releases a frothy and fizzy froth that mellows out quickly. The tropical scent of the fruit is front and center but the underlying sourness releases cidery, winey and citrusy aromas as well. Light in sweetness, the early palate shares malt flavors of sourdough, taffy and light agave.

As the low leveled sweetness dissolves completely, the middle palate opens up with a sour taste that sides with lime, lemon, gooseberry, green apple and white grape. With the succulent zing of pineapple, its lack of sweetness allows it to taste more young and green in nature. Trending crisp, refreshing and clean, the late taste is a pleasant but straight forward sour pineapple character.

Light, crisp and refreshing, Pinery finishes highly thirst quenching with a brief aftertaste of lemony sourness with a pineapple twist. Its basically a mix of a tropical sangria and dry fruity cider.

12 ounce can, canned on 01/28/21. Served in an Urban Artifact Chalice, the beer pours a mostly clear dark golden/orange color with not quite an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are OK. The brew smells like bready malt, salt, coriander and pineapple. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some grainy flavors. Slightly tart. Pineapple is muted in both the taste and aroma, wish it was stronger. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I like this beer OK, but I really wish there was more pineapple here. Not sure if it's because this isn't quite fresh or what, but something was missing for me here. Guess I wanted more tartness and more pineapple. With that being said, it'll still be easy enough to finish the 6 pack of this.

12oz can bragging about the 1000lbs of pineapple added per 30 barrel batch

Now this is a solid little beer, but I cant believe that much pineapple was used, I thought it would have to be a "pineapple bomb" but instead I'm left with a very drinkable little orange-colored sour with a nice and authentic Pineapple finish

I could drink 1000lbs of these, and want more, stat! I don't know if it's just me or not, but sours are much more hit-or-miss these days, and a lot of them sacrifice drinkability just to add a bit more sour flavor, which in turn ruins it in my eyes. This is exactly the opposite, the grain and malt are holding it down like a B-Boy from NYC circa '88 - making it so are able to enjoy and fully taste the encompassing pineapple juice sour flavor that NEVER ONCE APPROACHES being overpowered

Instead of failing like most sours these days (too sweet, too fruity, too sour, etc.) this one WINS. Strength through restraint. Reminds me of a quote from the good book. Enjoy this one out there - it's special. I hope they see they have a winner here and make it year-round and/or keep it as a mainstay

So how good could a pineapple gose be? Made with hothouse pineapples? Answer: real good, if Urban Artifact made it.

This gose pours relatively clear and deep golden. The aroma is clean and slightly fruity. The taste is just what you wanted and expected. Not too sour (like the fruit). Great character. Clean lingering taste.

Highly recommended. This is a refreshing, easy drinking gose, that unaware drinkers will like too (not just the beer snobs).
