8oz can for ten bucks. Black-blue. Smells like a blueberry wine, not very sweet or enjoyable. The taste completely masks the booze, a very tart blueberry beer with a touch of booze heat and malt. Cool experiment maybe, but way too expensive

Interesting and unique. Slightly tart. A little sweet. ABV is hidden well in the taste but, can be felt going down. Mild blueberry flavor gives this a dessert wine feel.

Take this with a grain of salt as this is not my beer type. Very tart and almost non sweet or less sweet than I expected. Very dry, almost wine like. Not my cup of tea, but glad I tried it. BTW, does not drink like 15%!

L: Pours a very dark purple color with very little head and no lacing.
S: Smells quite vinous and winey, with notes of blueberry that is quite jammy.
T: Lots of blueberry that is very jammy, and then strong vinous note, does come off as a blueberry wine. High alcohol isn't overly noticeable.
F: Higher carb, bigger body
O: This is a very nice beer, very much like a blueberry wine.

8 fl oz can
Served in a sour glass
This beer pours a deep, deep purple hue. It has virtually no head.
I've noticed that this one and the other version has a definitely vinous aroma. Smells kinda like a blueberry wine.
Intense berry flavor. Once again, I get vinous notes. Some tartness.
Medium bodied with a slightly dry mouthfeel
I have tried both versions. Thirty dollars for thirty-two ounces is a bit steep, but my girlfriend loves them, so Urban Artifact will continue to get my money. I am allowed one can out of the four pack at least.

L: That is RED. The head too. Don't spill it, you'll never clean the stain. You could use this to paint your fingernails.
S: Decidedly blueberry. Not picking up much alcohol despite it's fruity wine aroma.
T: Tart, barely sweet at all. The residual sugars of the blueberry taste nice. I can't taste anything resembling grain.
F: Glides off the palate and breathes. Surprisingly drinkable.
O: Tastes great, hits hard.

I'm not a fan of blueberries, and I love this. I should say I was saving it for a couple people and it didn't work out, so I'm drinking it this afternoon, on new years eve.
It pours purple with a thick soda head. The aroma is divine. I want to rub it all over me. It tastes unlike anything in the realm of potables except for the best of beers like this. A wonderful dose of tartness pulls your mouth wonderfully together. This has to have some probiotic properties, in moderation.
Highly recommended. I hope I can find it again. I am a big fan of the brewer, but this is better than I expected. Happy freakin new year. Maybe instead of thinking it is going to get better we should expect 2022 to suck at least as bad as 2021 and 2020. It would be nice to be wrong, then.

With copious amount of freeze dried fruit and a beer that's not only concentrated in its rife and ripe blueberry character, but also its alcohol content, if this series of beers are what astronauts get to drink, then beam me up Scotty!
Caught in a deep purple, wine-looking austere, the second edition of Astronaut Food shows off its dark berry depth of color. While virtually no foam, the beer's calm appearance only reinforces this dark wine austere. As a spicy, puckering and fruity scent rolls off of the rim, the nose is redolent with bordeaux wine, stone fruit, dark berry, cider and a serious little jolt of red wine. Scantly sweet, a modest grain sweetness highlights the beer's initial fruit rollup and taffy-like flavors early and often in taste.
A recession of sweetness happens rapidly on the middle palate as the sour booziness starts to set in. The robust flavor of robust blueberry share attributes of black cherry, plum, blackcurrant, blackberry and red grape. Highly condensed in its taste, there's a savory branch-dried character that comes with the natural fruit flavors with a nearly prune and raisin-like proportion. Supremely sour and making no attempt to hide its boozy effects, the fruit beer finishes jaw-tighteningly sour, succulent and balanced with a strong vinous peppery spice.
Medium bodied for sour ale, the anticipation of alcoholic jam is present but not overwhelming. Instead, the beer treads on the more robust red wine character with a finish that simmers on the throat with peppery grappa-like warmth. A medium length aftertaste of berry skin and pleasantly balancing tannins for a spice that extends well beyond the fruit. Surprisingly sour and dryish, this beer is simply out of this world.
