12 ounce can, canned on 11/16/21. Served in an Urban Artifact chalice, the beer pours a brown color with around an inch or so light tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. I like the aroma, it nice but a bit light and it smells like chocolate, cranberries, salt and coriander. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma but it has more punch, and there's also the addition of some vanilla. I think the cranberry and chocolate stands out, has a nice tart kick to it! Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good enough brew, liked the chocolate and cranberry combination more than I was expecting. Glad I got a 6 pack of this one!

L: Burnt dark amber in color with a smooth reddish-tan head, leaving behind patchy lacing.
S: Chocolate and cranberry.
T: Sour. Bitter. Chocolately finish. That cranberry really smacks. The cranberry sour is really potent, you've got to like sour ale. Chocolate isn't huge but it is definitely present, especially on the finish. It's not that unusual of a combination; Chocolate cranberry cake sounds delicious.
F: The finish is pretty good. It might be the best part even.
O: Much more agreeable after my palate adjusted to the intense flavors.

As imagination in beer making come to a close, Urban Artifact grasps that one last straw and gets to work creating a sour ale of chocolate and cranberry.
Pouring a muddy brown hue, the hazy Misrule, takes on a chocolaty appearance as its builds a creamier, frothier crown than is usually credited for sour ale. As a twinge of red berry rounds the nose, so does the chocolate scent of tootsie roll, the tanginess of cider and a hint of rose wine. With a sweeter upstart the initial taste is chocolaty with hints of taffy, tarte and cream.
As the flavors transition from sweet to tart, the chocolate character wavers and eventually give the middle palate over to the acidity. Briskly tart with cranberry, red currant, raspberry and cherry, the red berry flavors are evident. With a background of crabapple, lime and white grape, the beer finishes remarkably crisp, tart and peppery.
Medium bodied and finishing on the dry side of malty-dry, Misrule shows a surprising degree of refreshment although remaining chocolaty. A brief aftertaste of fudge coated cranberry starts to scream Christmas even before the beer is finished.
