A combination of blueberries, our house lactobacillus for tartness, and hefeweizen yeast. We fermented this beer slightly warm to accentuate the banana esters that are classic hallmark of great hefeweizens.

16 ounce can, canned on 12/14/22. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a somewhat hazy reddish/purple color with not quite an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. Aroma is nice, the brew smells mostly like blueberries, along with some wheat/grainy malt and a hint of citrus. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also the addition of some grape skin and banana flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good brew, more tart ale than Hefeweizen but I'm not complaining. Worth picking up if you're into tart blueberry beers!
