Slightly more than a fingers worth of ruby tinged khaki colored fluffy froth... Decent retention gives way to an uneven splotchy lacing... Color is a light cranberry... Nose of bong cherries with some raspberry and cranberry notes mixed I. As well... String vanilla undertones with a hint of smoke as well... Palate is entirely as expected... Flavors are pronounced but not overpowering... Feel of between light to medium... Some prickly carbonation... Goes down easily enough... Enjoyable enough brew but I've enjoyed other UA beers more recently...

Taking a decidedly tart turn, Urban Artifact celebrates one of the beer friendly fruits and rolls them into a sour beer. Tart cherries wrap around creamy flavors for a smooth, silky and bold sour session.
Rangle pours with a hazy and pinkish-mauve hue before floating a creamy white swath of foam. As a somber scent of the pitted fruit provides a gentle perfume of obvious cherry, berry and citrus, a soothing hint of vanilla suggests a light smoothie character. Sweeter once on the tongue, a light cereal sweetness carries hints of taffy and shortcake before a succinctly sour taste takes hold.
The middle palate allows the cherry and cereal to bounce lively off the tongue. As the taste of bright and radiant cherries carries a fresh fruit character, the taste is bold and intense while the underlying current of sourness brings crabapple, lemon and lime which give the late taste a familiar and clean lactic tartness for a clean and refreshing finish.
Bold in taste, light in body and brisk on the palate, Rangle gives sour ale fans exactly what they want- a bold cherry flavor, balanced by vanilla and never hinting toward the dreaded cough syrup flavors that usually plague cherry ale.
