12 FL OZ can
Served in an imperial becker glass

This beer pours a murky amber hue and is topped with a fleeting tan head that leaves no trace.

Lots of grapefruit in the aroma. Hints of pineapple and cinnamon, but I really have to search.

Huge grapefruit flavor. Tart with a little bitterness. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg in the aftertaste.

Fuller bodied with a thicker mouthfeel

Grapefruit bomb. The can has a whole list of adjuncts that I cannot smell or taste. Great grapefruit tart ale though.

Orangish in color. Somewhat thick looking pour. Small whitish head created by force. Nose is like a creamsicle to me. Taste is indescribable. Sour painful bitterness. Grapefruit in abundance.

Knowing how to get the party started, Urban Artifact knows that we want our sour ale and we want them strong. Their latest midwest fruit tart ale transports the tastebuds, and the senses, to the tropics.

Burnt orange and with a tint of rust, Gigglemug hits the senses with a wine soaked scent of tropical fruit, citrus and spice with a musk of sangria. Sweeter with a light syrup coat of sugar and cereal, the malty taste lays a firm foundation for the brunt of sourness to come. An undercurrent of lime, lemon, crabapple, gooseberry and grape precedes the fruit cocktail additions of grapefruit and passionfruit for a spiked punch character. Spices of cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg gives the session a decidedly caribbean twist with a cidery finish.

Full bodied, rounded and complex for sure, the spices aid in balance but offer a slight distraction from what we really want to do- drink 8% sour fruit.

I've been a big fan of this Ohio brewer since day one. They specialize in just this sort of brew - with SIX adjuncts: Grapefruit, Passionfruit, Vanilla Bean, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Honey. I think this was ambitious, even for Urban Artifact. I had to add it to BA. Apologies if it was previously added under some other name.

It pours a dirty orange with a tiny bit of fizz and lots of weird suspension. Lots. Weird. The aroma is a cool amalgam of fruits. It is a very appealing advertisement for the taste experience. This brew overwhelms with flavors from very tangy citrus to the other ingredients, some of which serve to temper the experience. If it didn't have that bit of spice and other sweeteners it would just be tart. These other flavors keep your palate going full speed. The delivery mechanism is a tangy feeling fruit conconction.

Highy recommended. This is a super interesting brew, not a simple juicy refresher, but a really complicated juicy refresher.
