I notice there are 3-4 different kinds of porters from Pyramid on the site, and each has 2 or less reviews and all seem to have regional names. This one was sampled just a block from the the Capitol of California in Sacramento, hence the name. I reckon all the porters in this line-up might be the same recipe with regional names.
This one was a translucent black with a smoky nose coming off the top of the beer. There wasn't a head, but a slight collar with no lacing.
This one seemed average in all the senses. Not offensive and i would put down a few free ones but when there are 12 house beers on tap, this is one of the few i would skip.
