You've arrived at your destination on time. We laid the tracks to this Imperial Porter with deep roasted malts and roasted barley, along with dashes of vanilla, cinnamon and dark brown sugar. Railroad Avenue is a big, malty brew that conducts the palate to a nicely spiced, mildly sweet finish.

Pours black with a light brown head that rises a bit then settles to a lasting cover, Spotted lacing sticks.

The smell is of coffee, caramel, earthy, spicy notes and a slight touch of coal.

The taste is of roasted coffee, wood, a touch of vanilla, cinnamon and slightly charred brown sugar. Slight alcohol shows in the sweet and spicy finish.

It hits full-bodied. It's pretty smooth.

An interesting, unique, lightly spiced strong American porter. Cinnamon, vanilla an brown sugar give a unique spin on it without overwhelming.

Brewed with vanilla, cinnamon, and dark brown sugar according to the label. Really interesting sweet and herbal taste. Handsome dark brown with amber highlights. Spritzy on the tongue. Woody and slightly boozy aroma.

This is a less sweet Imperial Porter. It's quite grainy with a pleasant range of roasted flavors. Not too much of the burnt taste, which also sets it apart. The flavorings are not overly strong, but the vanilla gives a nice taste. Some dark hoppy bitterness at the finish with a little burnt sugar. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Railroad Market in Burlington.

For the price. A great porter that's closer to a stout.
