Amber with whiteish tan head and good staying power. Fine lacing too. Nice looking but too dark for a normal IPA.
It attacks with a big floral hoppy bouquet. Not much else can overpower that.
Taste was great. Hoppy and citrousy. Malts are mellow but a residual sweetness exists. I gave it a 4.0 at the time, but by the end of the glass I decided it had some off tone or was merely too strong for my tastes so I'm giving it a 3.5.
Mouthfeel was thick enough for the style. Would be nice a little thicker though.
Drinkability is very good for the strength. It carrries the 8.5% well.

Sampled at the Pyramid Ale House opposite the Seattle Mariner field.
Nose is buttery and rasty with diacetyl and an large soapy hop nose. The soapy character grows and dominates the total nose.
Brew is medium copper with a large slow warming body.
This beer is big and warming and causes pricks of sweat upon your brow.
