Building upon the German Dunkel Weisse style, our Dunkel is a rich, dark and malty offering. Fermented with our house Hefeweizen yeast and bottled unfiltered, this is a sweet and robust play on a traditional wheat beer.

Pours a clear dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is solely of roasted and toasted grain. Taste is the same with a mild roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average beer that honestly seems more like a watery stout or porter than a dunkelweizen.

A - Pours a dark brown color with a finger of frothy tannish head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing.

S - Aroma is a mix of roasted malts with a touch of chocolate, with some wheat, with a bit of citrus hops, and some yeast.

T - Starts off with some roasted dark malt flavors with some wheat and a bit of citrus hop. Through the middle, some yeast flavor comes through with a touch of dark fruit. The finish is a mix of wheat, roasted malts, a touch of chocolate, and some yeast.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and roasted finish.

D - Very drinkable. Good overall balance, but a touch thin and could have used a bit more kick.
