My wife and I came down from Budapest to Balatonvilágos for a relaxing few days by the lake, and dropped in at Hedon brewery for a few beers. The location is really something -- there's a decent view of the lake from atop the hill, and there is plenty of room in the "taproom". I put that in quotes because basically the whole place is outdoors - they call it the Playground, and there's a couple beach volleyball courts, multiple terraces, outdoor bean bag chairs, and the like. An entirely unique location in my experience. There's a small indoor area where beer is served and they have some bottles available for to-go, as well as an outdoor "pour it yourself" tap wall that I imagine they enable on busy summer days. This is the off-season, so there weren't enough customers to really call for it.
As far as beer goes, they had 9 beers on tap plus their own hard seltzer. They had a couple IPAs and pale ales, as well as a pilsner, a hefeweizen, a cherry beer, and a stout. The pilsner was my favorite of what I had, and was quite good; the hefeweizen was more like a mild wheat ale, and both the pale ale and IPA I had were pretty flawed. In my opinion Hedon still has some ways to go with their hoppier beers.
The service was good in the little service area, and there were plenty of employees around despite it being a rather slow off-season day. I imagine this place is a real hoot in the summer!
