On tap at Punch, this looks inviting with copper reddish body and almost a nitro style head. Nose is promising. Smells like a marzen, lots of bready malts, a little spice...but then some surprising toffee that really comes through on the tongue, as well as some strange sugary notes and graininess that seem off and suggest a little under attenuation. There are a few things that seem a little off on this one...at the same time, there is a lot of good stuff there.

L: Pours medium amber under an off-white foam collar. S: Bready malt with a light spice background. T: This is a malt driven beer with light bread flavors and a hint of toast that finishes with a bitter hop accent. No hop flavors or caramel. F: Medium body and carbonation. O: An Oktobefest worth repeating.
