Wow, logging back after a long absence and behold, my deceased and wildly beloved and sorely missed dog greets me as avatar (*sob*); she looks so young in that photo which only serves to remind me that I am not so young and that I'm shuffling ever closer to that mortal coil. What can I say, the global pandemic has got me gloomy...but! happily, Brick and Feather is nearby and DH and I decided to grab a few cans. Casual Cosmology pours a lovely golden with a medium amount of foam. The nose is overripe strawberries, some peach, melon rind for sharpness; DH thought he got an orange gone soft in there too. It tastes, according to DH, drier than you might expect from the nose, and I concur. We both got some weediness and grapefruit, and somehow it all works out really well. As it warmed up in the glass it gave off even more ripeness but retained that brittle backbone going down. I like the contrast here, it's sassy and isn't interested in your usual NEIPA expectations and I'm glad we got ahold of this one.
