On side pull tap at Armsby Abbey in Worcester, MA.

This one pours a clean looking golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like crisp grain, grassy hops, and some toastiness.

This has a nice toasted and crisp grain character, with a clean grassy and floral hop bite, with some very light fruitiness.

This is light bodied, clean, crisp, and super drinkable.

You don’t see many American breweries doing Japanese-style lagers, let alone doing them well. I haven’t had many examples, but this one seems like it’s done well.

A- Pours into a tall narrow chalice with a slightly hazy golden to pale orange body. A thick layer of cream forms on the beer to an inch high with very good retention. Spotty lacing for the most part with some small webs.

S- Mostly getting grainy base malts, a light sweetness, some pale fruits and a light touch of herbal/floral/spicy hops. A touch of lemon as well as bread.

T- Honestly pretty neutral for the most part and in the end it works out. There are plenty of flavors but nothing feels out of balance and things tend to hint more than highlight. Lemon, spicy hops, floral hints, grainy pale malts, slight bread, cracker and a touch of pale fruits.

MF- Medium, or even close to full bodied for the style and the ABV. Carbonation is at a medium level and the beer fluffs up nicely with a foamy-creamy texture. Light bitterness in the finish which hits on the dry side of the spectrum.

Mild lager that brings a nice spectrum of flavors from the yeast, hops and the malts. Opens up clean but with time the light fruitiness grows just a bit too much.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated Sept 10 2021. so 2 days from packaging.
A - Wonderful clarity, carbonation is vibrant and cant hide in the afternoon sunflower colored backdrop. A thin white cap stays the duration.
S - A fun crisp hop element leads the way, with some verbana as the hint, a lovely malt thread, is wrapped in floral bouquet.
T - Tangy introduction, layers of semi sweet, flowery hops, crisp succint malt/rice all in concert.
M - Bright on the palate, sweet and a hint of tart, incredible dry finish. Just close the door on the way out kind of finish. The best kind. I wonder if Sake yeast is part of the equation.
O - What a treat, the structure and the flavors are in a dance, the aromatics are floral, sweet, and a bit sharp. Punctuated is what comes to mind. Boy I hope this comes around again soon!! A local (to me) outstanding example of the style. Sushi time.
