Appearance – Pours a clear, golden nectar colour, and a pure white 1 finger head, dissipating to a thin ring, mild effervesence
Smell – Tropical, with lots of pineapple, mango, grapefruit zest, orange juice, and a hint of pepper and a nettle bite in the back of the throat. Spice balanced nicely by a juicy hop resin aroma.
Taste – Starts clean, and then the big grapefruit bitter hit rushes in, before it’s balanced by that tropical fruit sweetness. Pineapple tang, lots of hop resin, a hint of orange juice. Finishes with a savoury herbal flourish – rosemary, saltbush and nettle. Slightly subdued.
Mouthfeel – A lively tingle on the tongue, cool and refreshing – hydrating, mid-light body, slight oil, medium cream, and a slight dry feeling wanting you to come back for more.
Overall – Juicy, flavourful and refreshing. Enjoyable brew, but a touch towards bitter. Would have been perfect with the fruit amped up a bit more, but comes close.
