An aroma of pine, with a hint of melon, gives way to body of this chewy, caramely IPA. Finishes with a punch of juicy, citrusy hops flavors.

On-tap at Preyer Brewing Company, Greensboro, NC
A: The beer is clear dark red in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of piney hops are present in the nose along with notes of sweet malts and hints of caramel.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has mostly flavors of piney malts along with hints of sweet caramel malts and hints of candy-like sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is maltier compared to other beers in the style; in some senses, it is more like an Amber/Red Ale with its strong malty backbone.
Serving type: on-tap

Came a slight hazed deep amber with a half finger light beige head atop.Caramel and brown sugar hit me upfront in the nose with some resinious hops as well.Quite sweet upfront on the palate with caramel and brown sugar notes, pine and earth come in the finish but the big sweet malt onslaught upfront to me wins out.I think the malt bill needs to be dialed back a bit for the style.

A: Pours a clear reddish amber in color with light amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and faint copper highlights. The beer has a finger tall dark beige foamy head that reduces to a medium sized patch of medium thick film and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of pine hops, slightly sweet caramel malts, and rye spiciness.
T: Upfront there is a slightly stronger than moderate flavor of slightly sweet caramel malts and toasted malts. That is followed by moderate flavors of rye spiciness and a slightly stronger flavor of pine hops. Light to moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith and tropical/cantaloupe hops are present towards the finish. Moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Light to moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: Drinks much easier than the 8.2% ABV, but it definitely an intense beer. Nice IPA with rye adding to the overall aroma and flavor without being overly bitter or overly sweet. Well balanced.
