A base of roasted malts gives this beer its characteristic coffee and chocolate flavors, which are matched by a pleasantly assertive bitterness.

T: The taste has flavors of cola along with notes of dark, roasted malts.
M: It feels light- to medium- bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.

My first visit to Preyer yesterday.Came a deep dark chocolate brown with a full one finger deep beige colored head.Big roast in the nose along with some earth, mild chocolate and caramel sweetness.Like the aromas the the flavors are deeply roasted with mocha flavors and more earthiness, sweetness is more in the finish from caramel and brown sugar.A solid porter here,if you like roasted porters this is for you.

A: Pours a clear very dark cola brown in color with light amounts of active visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and faint garnet red highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of dark roasted malts with some light hints of chocolate and coffee. Light to moderate notes of char/ash and just a hint of earthy hops.

T: Upfront there is a moderate to strong flavor of dark roasted malts with a light amount of char/ash. That is followed by some subtle hints of chocolate and coffee. Finally there is a light amount of earthy hops flavors as well. Moderate amounts of roasty bitterness lingers through the finish.

M: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy, especially so in the nitro version.

O: Very enjoyable and easy to drink, nice to be able to try the beer in it's standard form as well as on nitro. Very nice flavors and aromas.
