Belgian abbey meets North Carolina. Inspired by cornbread, the flaked maize, maple syrup, and smoked malt of this beer complement its Belgian abbey yeast, making this Belgian Blonde more complex than it may seem.

On-tap at Preyer Brewing Company, Greensboro, NC
A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a white collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose along with notes of candi sugars (presumably the maple syrup) and hints of pale malts.
T: The taste very much follows the smell and has slight bits of sweetness from the maple syrup.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is a little sweet with the candi sugar and maple syrup-like flavors but definitely has a Belgian flair with the yeasty aromas and flavors.

Came in a tulip glass a hazed tangerine-like color with a nice sticky white head atop.Aromas of toasted grain, lemon zest, faint smoke, and spiced phenols.Lemony and grainy on the palate with a bit of toast, the phenols take over in the finish.A nice easy drinking Belgian pale with a twist, although I didn't really get any maple and only faint smoke.
