16 oz. can. Very hazy orange. Smells super tropical. Mango, oats, kinda sweet smelling. Tastes much the same as the nose. Sweet, tropical fruits, slight garlic bite. Some oats, but not as much as it smells. Pretty sweet. Almost no bitterness. Medium heavy. I know the can is a few days past its "Best by" date, but I’m still not sure this is as good as the rates suggest.

CAN
Murky goldenrod with film. 3.75
Big green verdant dank. 4.5
Golden grahams, then apricot, skunky bite, spinach, and pineapple. 4.5
Medium, soft, oily. 4

Citra BBC (it’s a special pellet from Haas), Mosaic

Green more than fruit - is that just a function of freshness? Way greener than v12 (tasted side by side) - 24.3.17 canning, so this is all of 2 weeks old. Tough to get past the resin to Citra and Mosaic character, and the esters are lost, too. Hugely craveable, but is there such a thing as too fresh? 4.25

440ml Can from Good Spirits Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£5.90):
Excellent stuff again from Cloudwater, they are definitely a brewery that know how to make excellent DIPA's & this one is no exception. The beer started a little slower than I'd have liked & the nose was far from as strong as previous offering but it wasn't quite week either; it did eventually open up with some nice citrus notes & the odd hop but it could definitely have been stronger. Thankfully things improved substantially come the nose & plenty of hop bitterness featured alongside strong malts & various tropical fruits to give the beer an excellent taste. It's probably not as good as some previous offering from the brewery, especially there DIPA v10 & v11 in this series but it was still a great beer & one I'd have again; if only the nose was a little better then it might have been something truly special.

Shared by Justin. Thank you sir! 49/50 on the top rated beers list. Caution light yellow body, hazy, white soapy head. Aromas of melon, pineapple, guava. Hop forward and delicious. Super juicy. Absolutely wonderful.

Well this is the best DIPA I've had to date.

L - Normally I kind of dislike the look of NE style IPAs which are hazy but this is one might be the definition of turbidity. It looks like a fresh mango smoothie just coming out of the mixer. With the just the foam on top you'd expect from the mixing

S - Very attractive smell with a complex mix of oat, orange, passionfruit, mango, papaya, a hint of biscuit

T - Amazing taste. Perfect balance. All the tropical fruit you have in the smell and the orange. A bit of butter on bread. Also peach, elderflower. It's so much dank

F - The juicy mouthfeel could consider as the downside of this beer. It still fantastic. The level of carbonation could be a bit higher but I get the low carbonation. Staying on the smoothie vibe.

O - Well I get the hype. Great stuff and well, somehow, it's just a beer. I love it.

On-draught @ Torst, NYC.

A bit malty, even for an English expression of the style. Biscuit malt, caramalt, maybe crystal malt. I'd prefer all pale; this is unrefreshing.

Hides its ABV well. $11 per 8oz is steep for this, but even an English domestic price wouldn't entice me enough to get it again. Hop pungency and depth of flavour are wanting.

High C+ (3.25) / ABOVE AVERAGE

Really hazy peach color with creamy, off-white head. Aroma is really juicy with sweet tangerines, apricots and peaches. There is also a nice grassy/herbal hop note. Taste starts sweet and juicy, really tropical, also grassy, just slightly bitter on the finish. Medium body and carbonation, nice and smooth. Upper tier NE style DIPA!
