CAN
Chocolate brown with tan webs; leath + cocoa syrup; big milk chocolate, some toast, more carob, slightest fig centre, + walnuts; super smooth, long linger.

Beaut. Soul of a brown despite the hipster ingredients. Well constructed recipe gives depth + silkiness. Cloudwater can do anything.

Pours a dark brown, slightly reddish coloration with a large, foamy head. Smell is quite hoppy for a Brown Ale, although the malt still dominates. Intriguing balance of bready, toasted malt with notes of coffee and chocolate and earthy hops with a hint of grass and citrus. Taste follows the nose, with that same intriguing malt/hop balance. The malt appears somewhat more roasted, with notes of coffee and chocolate, but also hints of leather and smoke. The hops are very earthy, with hints of grass and citrus. Finishes quite mellow, with a light bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, with a light body and medium carbonation.

Traditionalists will probably hate this, but personally I think that with its relatively strong hoppy notes, this a great modern take on the Brown Ale. Great balance, my only gripe with this is that the body is quite light and maybe slightly overcarbonated.

Great looking dark brown, almost black ale, small head with slight brown color.
Smells smokey, salty, coffee and dark chocolate - maybe some liqurice.
Taste is very coffee and chocolate, bit of smoke on the back end of the tongue and throat.
Mouthfeel is creamy and full.
I like this beer a lot.

Pours very, very dark brown, almost black, with rich, thich chocolate colored foam.

Smell is musty and loaded with chocolate, coffee and a hint of ham.

Taste is creamy and chocolatey with hints of leather, ham and coffee.

Mouthfeel is medium, but rich and creamy with smooth carbonation.

Overall, possibly the best brown ale I've ever had. Cloudwater really can do no wrong...
