A 440ml can with a BB of March 2018. Purchased a little while back from the Brewdog webshop. Described on the label as an amber ale brewed with five malt varieties and five hops: Citra, Enigma, Vic Secret, Chinook and Simcoe.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Can-conditioned. A very hazy marmalade-orange hue with tons of suspended sediment and moderate carbonation. Produces a vast head of creamy off-white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of juicy hops with hints of clementine, citrus zest, peel, pineapple, tropical fruit, white grape, subtle leafiness, caramel malt, ale yeast and faint earthiness. Good balance - very nice.
T: Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with notes of grapefruit, citrus peel, zest, tropical fruit, white grape, leafiness, mild caramel malt, ale yeast and earthiness. Quite dry, followed by a subtle hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with fizzy carbonation and decent body. Lightly astringent; hop oils stimulate the palate. Aftertaste of grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruit, mild bitterness, caramel malt and ale yeast.
O: Pretty good, with plenty of hoppy notes on offer. Looks nice, while the aroma and flavour are replete with fruity hops underpinned by caramel malt and yeast. Body is OK. Hop bitterness is subdued; the brewers are clearly emphasising aroma. Goes down readily enough - a solid hoppy amber that is worth your time if you come across it.
