In March 2016 we devoted a third of our cellar capacity to a single beer, DIPA v3. We are excited to brew it again as faithfully as we can to the original recipe. Hot side additions see the return of whole cone, new season Chinook and Citra hops, followed by an 8 g/L cold side dry hop, featuring Centennial, Citra, Mosaic, and Comet. It was fermented with WLP095 instead of the original Vermont ale yeast. 8.5% ABV
Aroma Hops: Centennial, Citra, Mosaic, Comet
Bittering Hop: Pilgrim CO2 Alpha Extract
Malts: Golden Promise
Yeast: WLP095

Can from Colin, shared with Boise crew. Medium golden, small head fades to ring. Not hazy. Earthy, musty aroma. Taste gets sweet and fruity. Woody, piney. Kind of complex.

CAN
Clear (?!) gold; Sunkist!; big sweet malts, a ton of orange - flesh + oil both - with resin + tropical, apricot esters, and eventually tooth-breaking lemon candy.

Sweet base, a ton of citrus, plus an almost cloying amount of mango. Bright, dank and oily. A big of a throwback - kinda Pliny more than NEIPA - so I can’t say bad, but not the usual Cloudwater fireworks.

440ml Can from Cloudwater Online Shop (£4.50):
Fresh & tropical with plenty of mango, apricot & orange coming through from the start but I'd have liked to have seen the nose coming through a little stronger. The beer is very well balanced & easy to drink with the majority of the alcohol content hidden by the hops & tropical fruits as well as the touches of sweetness & caramel malts further on; great stuff & definitely a beer that I'd pick up again if it wasn't a limited release.

Orange color with medium haze. Aroma has sweet citrus notes and herbal hops. Taste is bittersweet with citrusy hop notes, quite resiny and slightly astringent. Medium body and carbonation. Quite good but a bit too resiny.

Canned a month ago.
Pours a somewhat cloudy amber with a nice frothy white head that retains and laces well. Lots of unsightly floaties. Aromas and flavors have a distinct caramely malt profile, alongside sweet candied citrus and grassiness from the hops. Definitely more of a West coast styling than NEIPA. Mouthfeel is the high point with a nice fluffiness and somewhat restrained bitterness. Overall not quite worth the high price tag, but nice to finally be trying something from them
