Our Double Dry Hopped Pale is brewed to soup up your down time by delivering the hop flavour intensity of our DIPAs at a moderate ABV. Doubling our standard Pale Ale’s dry-hopping rate of 8g/L delivers a bold, juicy, hazy, and heavily/hopped beer. Out of our hoppy beer range, this sets the marker for balance between drinkability and flavour impact.

440ml can from Tesco (£3.50):
Light yellow & thick looking with a foamy white head about 1.5cm tall & some bubbles around the circumference. It's quite a dry beer, lots of citrus & pine hops open thing with the nose a sharp on with grapefruit & some tropical fruits dominating the taste. It's pretty good for a supermarket beer too.

Pours a jazy orange with soft, soapy head.
Smell is juicy and crisp with notes of oranges, mango, grass and hops.
Taste is hoppy, juicy and refreshing, with notes of oranges, grass, pineapple, with a little bit of chalkiness. Nice, soft bitterness, with a bit of hop burn. Very well balanced and sessionable.
Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice pale ale, very drinkable and well put together.

Must admit that I’m generally an IPA/IIPA sort of guy but decided to try the DDH Pale Ale based on enthusiasm from friends and bartenders.
I don’t bother writing reviews unless the beer tastes fresh and ranks somewhere between excellent and mind blowing.
This beer was borderline incredible at the age of 23 days and is still providing a mind boggling hoppy taste assault as it approaches 3 months. How Cloudwater has created all this at only 5.5% is nothing short of a minor miracle.

Pours a hazy, deep golden coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of doughy, biscuity malt and vibrant citrus/tropical/orchard fruit notes of grapefruit, tangerine, papaya and peach with just a hint of grassy dankness. Taste follows the nose, with a great balance of doughy, biscuity malt and quite vibrant and zesty citrus/tropical/orchard fruit notes of grapefruit, tangerine, papaya and ripe peaches, as well as a light grassy dankness and just a hint of resinous pine and peppery spice. Finishes quite dry, with a medium bitterness and hop bite and some citrus notes and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
An exceptional Pale Ale that packs a huge amount of flavor into the 5.5% ABV, with the quite zesty citrus notes standing out the most, giving this quite a tangy/acidic quality that is enhanced by a good amount of hop bite in the aftertaste.

Very fresh hops, leaning towards spicy, resiny and grassy. Prickling on the palate from the dry hopping lupulins. Good pale ale but I do not agree with the hopping choice.
