Pours a dark reddish brown with high, fluffy, tan head.

Smell is slightly tart with strong notes of bourbon, oak, vanilla and dried fruit, shored up by lighter notes of coffee, fudge and Jack Daniels.

Taste is sort of a tart Jack Daniels. Notes of bourbon, oak, vanilla, dried fruit, coffee, fudge and a hint of orange. Very interesting and quite unique.

Mouthfeel is medium, with fairly sharp carbonation.

Overall, a truly unique beer, just unlike anything else I've tried.

Had on tap at Mala Gissona in San Sebastian, Spain. This beer is super mellow and smooth. Sure, it's barrel-aged but at only 8.2% its much more mild than most BA beers but in a good way. Its a nice, rich bodied beer that you can drink, rather than sip. A little sweet, nice warmth from the booze and a little nutty. Good stuff

Pours a deep, dark amber, brown'ish coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smells of bready, caramel malt, dark fruits and a hint of vanilla, bourbon and oaky tannins. Taste is dominated by bready, caramel malt and slightly tart red/dark fruit notes: red/blackcurrant, plum, fig, with a hint of toffee, vanilla and some light bourbon notes and oaky tannins. Finishes with a light sweetness and tartness, as well as some red/dark fruits lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This has a rather nice balance of sweetness and subtle tartness going on, complemented nicely by some mellow bourbon notes and oaky tannins, adding a little depth to the subtle overall balance. Body/mouthfeel seems a little thin, but really not too bad.
