Really dark brown color with brownish head. Aroma is grainy with lots of burnt bread crust. Taste is malty, bready, a bit burnt with lingering ashy bitterness. Medium minus body and carbonation. A nice take on a more classic beer style.

Pours black with golden highlights and a massive, thick, fluffy cap of light brown head. Gorgeous beer.
Smell is roasty with notes of plums, caramel, brown bread, cocoa and a hint of ash.
Taste is smooth and roasty, with a bit of sweetness from the caramel notes. Fruity plums, rye bread and a nice, soft bitterness also make appearances.
Mouthfeel is medium, smooth and well carbonated.
Overall, a great hybrid of Doppelbock and Schwarzbier. Dry and roasty, but still fruity.
