Collaboration with Monkish Brewing Co.
For the tenth in a series of collaborations celebrating our first festival, Friends & Family & Beer, we had the honour of brewing with Monkish from Los Angeles. Graced by that kind of company, we felt our only option was to go big and juicy, so this TIPA aims to combine tropical fruit bowl flavours with a silky mouthfeel and solid drinkability despite its high ABV.

Pours a murky, deep, dark golden coloration with a large, foamy head. Smells of sweet'ish, caramel, biscuity malt and tropical/citrus notes of mango, pineapple and grapefruit, as well as a hint of resinous pine. Taste follows the nose, but more dominated by the caramel, biscuity malt and resinous pine, with notes of tropical fruit: mango, pineapple and lighter citrus notes of grapefruit and orange rind as well. Finishes bittersweet, with a light bitterness and some tropical and piney notes lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and medium carbonation.
As far as TIPAs go, this is actually rather nice, with a good balance of caramel/biscuity malt, citrus/tropical fruit and resinous pine notes. Perhaps a tad too sweet and boozy, but really not too bad for the style and quite enjoyable all in all.

Orange color with off-white head. Aroma has sweet citrus fruits and a bit of booze. Taste is quite intense with a bit of caramel and orange rind. Not too boozy on the taste.
