Just over a year ago, the moon shone brightly enough to pierce through the mist, and light the edges of the woods surrounding Gage Hill Homestead, in south Vermont. Fireflies danced across the paddocks, treating us to a show, as we relaxed into the night – Leo was for eating them all, but did the alpaca even notice?

Pours a slightly cloudy, deep golden amber coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smells of sweet, biscuity, caramel malt and hoppy notes of overripe tropical, citrus and stone fruit: papaya, passion fruit, grapefruit and peach, with just a hint of pine. Taste follows the nose, with some sweet, biscuity, caramel malts and quite juicy, overripe, fruity, but also slightly resinous hops, with tropical, citrus and stone fruit notes of papaya, passion fruit, grapefruit and peach, with the peachstanding out particularly, as well as just a hint of pine. Finishes with a medium sweetness and light bitterness, as well as some peach and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a rich body and light/medium carbonation.

This is quite a nice Triple IPA that doesn't really suffer from being way too sweet and boozy, as many of them do, despite a certain peach schnapps note that is not too pungent though and balanced nicely by some bitter, resinous hops and quite juicy and overripe tropical and citrus fruit notes. I'm not a huge fan of Triple IPAs generally, but this really works, never had a bad TIPA by Cloudwater,
