This seasonal special was brewed for celebrated Finnish chef Jyrki Sukula. As the nights draw in, a crisp snap fills the air, and the foliage explodes in beautiful bursts of red, yellow and brown, the humble Amber Ale comes into its own. Combining a smooth body, sweet malt profile and punchy hop flavours, it's finely balanced yet resolutely flavoursome.

16 oz can from Colin. Dark amber pour, skin of head. Aroma is light roasty grains, malty. Taste also brings more roast. Very subtle. Seems more of a Dunkel?

Pours a clear, deep, dark amber coloration with a medium, creamy head. Smells of grainy, toasted, slightly caramelly malt and just a hint of earthy hops and red berries and dark fruits. Taste follows the nose, with a good balance of sweet'ish grainy, toasted, caramel malt, some red berry and dark fruit notes of redcurrant, cranberry and fig, as well just a hint of herbal, earthy, bitter hops. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some red berries and earthy hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
The perfect autuum beer with its great balance of sweet malts and earthy hops, although it is perhaps just a touch too grainy for my personal taste. Still a rather nice Red Ale, perhaps a little light, but with a rather nice flavor profile all in all.
