Hopfenweisse is a niche style that has played a significant role in the brewery's development. Early attempts at the style were our first real explorations of the interplay between bold hop flavour, aromatic yeast and a smooth, full body from high protein malts that is now a prominent feature of our modern, hop-forward beers. This Double Hopfenweisse is where hefeweisse meets DIPA.

Pours a hazy, dark golden amber coloration with a large, creamy head. Smells of wheat malt, hoppy notes of peach and orange and yeast esters of banana and clove. Taste follows the nose, with just the right balance of doughy wheat malt, estery notes banana, apple skin and clove and strong hoppy accents of peach and orange. Finishes with a light bitterness and some orange hops and spicy yeast esters lingering in the aftertaste. Full, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is pretty much a mix between a Weizenbock and a NEIPA and while that may sound weird, it actually works quite well due to the perfect balance of doughy malt, fruity hops and spicy esters. Don't get me wrong, this is quite hop forward, but absolutely retains those wheaty malt and fruity/spicy yeast esters that you expect from a Weizen, making for very satisfying and enjoyable beer if you don't mind the strong NEIPA influence. Think Meine Hopfenweisse with the hops turned up to 11.
