This Double Dry Hopped IPA is a showcase of CY19 Pacific Jade hops from New Zealand. This often-overlooked hop in craft beer is presenting particularly bright and has impactful fruit flavours, supported by punchy resinous notes. A full-bodied, smooth DDH IPA provides a perfect platform for it to shine.

Pours a cloudy golden amber coloration with a large, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and citrus hops, with notes of tangerine and lime peel, as well as some grassy, herbal accents. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and slightly floral, grassy/herbal, citrus hops, with notes of tangerine and lime peel, as well as just a hint of pine and black pepper. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some citrus notes and herbal, piney accents lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Quite a nice IPA that is dominated by grassy/herbal and citrus notes, but perhaps just lacks a bit of that wow factor that I've come to expect from Cloudwater. Maybe there's a reason that Pacific Jade hops don't get used all that much? Still quite an enjoable brew, just not all that expressive and a touch too floral and grassy for my personal taste.

Pours a fairly clear lgt amber with soft, fluffy head.
Smell is juicy with notes of melon, oranges, grapefruit and grapes. Unusually subdued nose for Cloudwater.
Taste is citrusy and juicy. Notes of grapefruit, melon, grapes and a hint of gooseberries. Moderate bitterness and great balance, crisp and fruity with a dry finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy, well carbonated.
Overall, a very good IPA. Not quite up to the usual Cloudwater standard, but still better than most IPAs out there.
