On Friday March 6th 2020, we're launching a new beer to celebrate the caring, committed and creative folks working in the UK's independent beer retail sector.
Independents Day is a DDH IPA brewed in collaboration with some of our favourite indie retailers across the country and will be launched exclusively through those same venues.
They all joined us at the brewery in January for our Indie Retailer Summit, to look at the future of the industry and find new solutions to common challenges.
Following the Summit, they took part in a collaboration brew day and we really believe the resulting beer does these wonderful folks justice. It's typically bold and flavour-packed, featuring Idaho 7 and NZ Cascade hops, which were selected by the retailers in attendance.

Pours a gorgeous, vibrant, hazy golden orange with soft, fluffy head.
Smell is juicy and intense, with notes of pineapple, mango, melon, gooseberries, grass and some pine. Marvelous nose!
Taste is everything the nose promises, and then some. More resinous pine than the smell, but all the juicy fruit notes are there, along with some grapefruit. Soft, but sturdy bitterness with just a hint of hop burn. Fairly light bodied with a dry finish. Balance is absolutely perfect.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy, with slighly light carbonation.
Overall, probably the best IPA I've had from Cloudwater, and that's saying something. With a touch more carbonation, this would be a straight 5.
