Crop Year 2019 series #10: Ekuanot Single Hop IPA
This is just another can of IPA. It’s also the result of hundreds of people toiling in the fields, driving hops along straight country roads, and working long shifts for the benefit of those they’ll never meet.
To the many under-represented and under-celebrated, skilled field, factory and back-of-house workers, this one’s for the 99% of the industry that aren’t brewers, but are just as important. Thanks, and cheers!

Pours a cloudy, deep orange coloration with a large, frothy head and pleny of lacing. Smells of biscuity malt and bright, juicy tropical notes of passion fruit and guava, as well as hints of lime peel and dankness. Taste is an excellent balance of biscuity malt and sweet and juicy tropical fruit and lighter, zesty citrus accents, with notes of passion fruit, guava, pink grapefruit and lime peel, as well as some pine and a light herbal dankness. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some tropical fruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
What I love about Cloudwater IPAs is that you sometimes just can tell if you're drinking a NEIPA or not. I mean, it's hazy, juicy and tropical, but also bitter, piney and dare I say earthy? They really made this hybrid style their own and do it exceptionally well. Anyone who claims NEIPAs all taste the same seriously needs to try their beer. Great balance of sweetness and bitterness, juicyness and earthiness to this, fantastic brew.
