Collaboration with The Veil Brewing Co.

Chubbles II: Discovering Pilsengris is the second journey for our little buddy Chubbles. Just like the original batch of Chubbles, this series was brewed in collaboration with our dear mates at Veil Brewing Co. Clocking in at 8%, this DIPA was brewed with hopped with an astronomical amount of Galaxy, Citra, Enigma, Amarillo, and Vic Secret.

Pours a hazy, bright orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical/citrus/berry hops, with notes of passion fruit, white grape and orange. Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly dank and grassy hops, with tropical, berry and citrus notes of passion fruit, papaya, white grape, gooseberry, orange and tangerine, as well as just a hint of herbal weed. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some passion fruit, white grape, orange and weed lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

Another superb NEIPA from Cloudwater with incredibly vibrant, expressive and well-defined hops, while the Enigma stands out here in particular with those white grape and gooseberry notes typical of the "Australian Nelson Sauvin", as well as passion fruit from Galaxy and some citrus and dank undertones from Citra, finishing with a good bitterness for the style. Great body and mouthfeel as well, while the sheer intensity of the hop character almost makes this feel like more of a TIPA, that indeed kinda reminded me of their Chubbles Chubbles TIPA.

Pours a hazy light orange with high, fluffy head.

Smell is fruity and juicy with notes of grapes, gooseberries, citrus and melon with some dank, earthy notes.

Taste is juicy and intense, but crisp and balanced. Notes of grapes, gooseberries, citrus, grass and dank melon, with a solid bitterness and slight mineral hints.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft, pillowy and smooth with good carbonation.

Overall, just a great, stellar DIPA.

If only Cloudwater brewed all their DIPAs like this - very much in the style of their recent TIPAs this is a big, thick, juicy New England DIPA. The best DIPA they have put out in a long, long time - this is superb!
