Pours a pitch-black coloration with a large, creamy, mocha-colored head. Smells of roasted, slightly caramelly malt and distinct, rich dark chocolate, as well as lighter vanilla and hints of licorice. Taste follows the nose, with an excellent balance of roasted, slightly caramelly malt and quite luscious, rich dark chocolate, as well as lighter vanilla and hints of licorice and earthy/herbal hops. Finishes with a light bitterness and rich dark chocolate and lighter vanilla and licorice lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

An absolutely lovely chocolate stout with quite a rich and luscious dark and bitter chocolate character that anyone who's ever had actual cacao nibs will immediately recognize, with very little sweetness coming through and the vanilla thankfully staying a bit more in the background, allowing those roasted, dark and bitter notes to really shine here. Overall, this makes for a fantastic, understated chocolate stout with an excellent balance of roasted, bitter and lightly sweet notes that feels a lot fuller than the 7% ABV would suggest.
