Riffing on Be Well, Friends - one of our most popular releases of 2020 - this DDH IPA aims to showcase the full breadth of delicious and distinctive aromatics provided by New Zealand hops. It uses the same seven varieties as its bigger sibling, delivering a similarly rich flavour expression at a lower strength.

Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity malt and citrus/tropical/berry hops, with notes of of orange, papaya and gooseberry, as well as some herbal accents. Taste is a great balance of biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly herbal, spicy, floral hops, with citrus, tropical, berry and stone fruit notes of orange, lime peel, papaya, gooseberry and peach, as well as hints of white pepper and mint. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness, light hop burn and some fruity, herbal and spicy notes lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I'm a little torn on this one, it all seemed a little too much as first, but did manage to come into its own a little more as I kept drinking. Still, while there is huge range of flavors to this, they all mesh together a little too much, with the hops not feeling that well-defined individually. There certainly is a great soft and creamy mouthfeel to this though, with an impressive body for the ABV as well, making this feel rather rich. Overall, this makes for a very enjoyable New Zealand IPA with a huge depth of flavor that almost becomes a little overwhelming though, with an excellent body and mouthfeel.
