Our international reputation for innovation in hoppy beers helped us catch the attention of Freestyle Hops back in 2018, leading to us attending our first NZ hop selection in Upper Moutere in April 2019, alongside a who’s who of new-wave US breweries.

This collaboration is brewed to showcase our longstanding relationship with the team at Freestyle Hops and showcases Motueka, Nelson Sauvin, Maui Nelson Hopkief, and Rakau Hopkief.

Pours a hazy light orange with soft, fluffy head.

Smell is fruity, peppery and spicy with notes of gooseberries, mango, citrus, elderflower, grapes and melon.

Taste is crisp, fruity and peppery with a moderate bitterness. Notes of gooseberries, grapes, white wine, lime, citrus peel and melon.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft, pillowy and well carbonated.

Overall, a great NZ IPA, full of flavor but very drinkable.

440 ml can, as Cloudwater x Freestyle Hops P.K. New Zealand DHH IPA, from Vinmonopolet Sandnes Kvadrat. ABV is 6.8%. Hazy yellow colour, moderate white head. Pleasant aroma of citrus, mango and other tropical fruits, also notes of pine needles and sprucetips. Equally pleasant flavour with the same elements, moderate to low bitterness. Might well buy again.

the best hoppy beer i had on our recent trip to scotland, on tap at brewdog in st andrews, and frankly it wasnt even close, this is about as good as it gets, an unreal specimen, even for these guys who carry a serious reputation, it surprised my just how insanely delicious this is, wow. this is everything that is amazing about new zealand hops at peak, and the beer flatters all that they are, a nice creamy soft hazy with a lot of body and length for the hops to cling to, this is done with all the heavy hitters, or most of them, but its nelson which steals the show, as it often does, the most recognizable varietal in here to me, owing perhaps to the hop kief product they use alongside the pellets in here. slightly dull looking but high headed and pale orange, fairly dense, whitewashed looking, very well carbonated, no visible sediment or anything either. the aroma is striking, white peach and vanilla, feminine and pretty, with green melon and floral white tea, candy-like sativa, white wine and mimosa with not from concentrate orange juice, almost perfumed the hops are so fresh and forward, starchy grain in support, pasta water, floral honey but dry, champagne, lemon lime soda. the flavor is just as good, the hops move and pop at each moment so its real dynamic and i keep tasting new things, very fruity, sauvignon blanc, tangerine zest and kumquat, white grapefruit, jasmine, weedy without the usual dankness side of things, green gooseberry and kiwi fruit without the tang, juicy without being sweet, its just wonderful, fresh, and highly dosed without being harsh in any way, and bitterness is very slight overall in this. good structure from the grain but this isnt malty to me, wheaty and earthy and adequate there, pretty cleanly fermented, this has a terpene and thiol intensity without seeming like engineered yeast in the mix, which i really dig. full feeling but smooth, long with the hops, zero burn, silky and sexy, really really great, hype worthy, and frankly about as fine a showcase of these magical hops as you will find. special, right at a time when hazy beer is getting samey and fatiguing, this one really stands out!

Copenhagen 25/8 2025. 44 cl can from A Good Case web-shop. Dark can with a pattern In blue and purple and Cloudwater's pretty cool logo with the little cloud hovering.

Pours opaque hazy, slightly dirty, golden orange with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as a 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is medium intense Wirth a sweet, fermented odor of overripe stone fruit mingling with a bit of citrus fruit. Sweet mango and peach. Hints of decay and alcohol. Tangerine and alcohol. Whiff of grapefruit.

Light carbonation. Medium thick. oily, soft, a bit viscous, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is fairly intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a notable sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is rather dry.

Potent NEIPA with a fermented touch. .

440ml can.
L: Opaque, orange/green colour with two fingers of foam that collapses ever so slowly to a lumpy head and leaves rings of lacing.
S: Mango, orange zest and green moss.
T: Ripe tropical fruit, juicy red berries, coconut and a touch of white pepper. Super complex but works extremely well. Next to no bitterness.
F: Medium body, incredibly pillowy mouthfeel, light carbonation and a hint of dryness in the finish.
O: Very different to a standard NEIPA, this NZIPA stands on its own. These new wave New Zealand hops are sufficiently different now that they warrant a new beer style, surely? A lovely beer.
