This test batch is a corrective step towards what we hope will be a house classic - referring to historic and modern examples of the style, we've dialled in a recipe with all the things about pints of stout that we love.

A carefully balanced malt bill lays down the foundation. Expect light grain sweetness up front, cocoa powder, espresso and a gentle roast bitterness to finish. The body is smooth but not heavy, designed for drinkability rather than indulgence.

This is a stout with northern sensibility - honest, balanced and sessionable. Still evolving, still being refined, but aspiring to become an everyday classic.

440ml can.
L: Shiny black with a thin, tan head that lasts and lasts.
S&T: Roasty and chocolatey. Light bitterness. Not ashy or heavy. Very clean, almost delicate flavours.
F: Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, dry-ish finish.
O: A delightful, velvet smooth stout. Very approachable. Incredibly easy to drink. Would love to try this on draught.
